Security lapse at school!

No matter how much you spend on security equipment and the security personel, what has to happen, will happen. This nine year old child passed the gates of the school without anybody noticing him.Inspite of the guards, the chowkidars, the teachers on duty and the security staff  the child made a few attempts going towards the gate and when no one was looking he slipped out of the gate and started walking towards his home which was five, six kilometres away. Normally picked up by the driver everyday, it was the father who had come to pick him up on this particular day and he was late in coming to pick his child The child had earlier also asked the secretary to call his home. All hell broke loose when the child was not being traced in school , outside school and had not reached home either. Thanks to the  CCTV cameras that the child was traced in the footage leaving the premises at around 2.36 all by himself.. That gave the school authorities jitters that where can the child be now. Concerned people went on their motorbikes to search for  him on the route which the child had taken but alas! no luck. The father was pretty much composed dealing with the school authorities but his burst of anger and anguish could be heard on the telephone with his near and dear ones which was understandable under the circumstances. Finally at around 4.30pm the call from the home confirmed that the child has just reached home. The moment the father heard the news he collapsed with tears of joy rolling down his cheeks and office staff hugging him and comforting him.
This whole scenario had a lesson. People have to be more vigilant and more responsible in giving their duties. Its a very serious matter. God forbid if something would have happened to the child while on the road , one can very well imagine the consequences. Schools should have proper safety and security strategies and ensure that they are followed as ultimate responsibility lies on the school.
